  • YEAR 7 TRANSITION LETTER TO YEAR 6 PARENTS

    Fri 30 Apr 2021 N Coxall

    Date: Friday 30.4.21

    Dear parents,

The summer term is well underway and it is this time of year when we begin to think about saying goodbye to our year 6 pupils. Many of them have been with us since Nursery and although our goodbyes are tinged with sadness, we are also excited for their future.

As your child transfers to secondary education, we work hard with our colleagues at local high schools to make this transition as smooth as possible. As you can imagine, this takes a considerable amount of work to ensure that every pupil has the right support in their introduction to Y7 to ensure their future success.

Below are details of a survey that we are asking every parent of pupils in Y6 to complete. This survey has been written by the ‘6 into 7’ organisation which has been set up by Barking and Dagenham to support pupils with their transfer from Y6 to Y7. The survey is completely GDPR secure and the information can only be shared between Rose Lane Primary and your child’s secondary school.

The link is also available on our school website. Please complete the survey as soon as possible to enable us to start the process promptly.

  • NSPCC NUMBER DAY 7TH MAY

    Fri 23 Apr 2021 N Coxall

    Dear Parent/Carer,

We’re taking part in NSPCC Number Day!

We are delighted to be supporting the NSPCC by taking part in Number Day on Friday 7th May 2021.

Everything the NSPCC does protects children today and prevents abuse tomorrow.

The NSPCC needs our support more than ever. By raising money, we can help to fund their vital services such as Childline – the helpline that’s always there for children and young people whatever their problem or concern.

On average, a child contacts Childline every 25 seconds

    Making maths meaningful

Number Day is a great way to make maths fun and bring about a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude towards it.

    • We are carrying out some fun maths activities and we will be taking part in Dress up for Digits.  Pupils are asked to wear an item of clothing with a number on it (football shirt, cap, netball shirt or even a onesie!).  Or get even more creative by dressing in a maths or numbers theme. To help raise money for the NSPCC, we are asking for a suggested donation of £2, and we’d love everyone in the school to take part in this special event.

    Safe Fundraising

    • We ask you to make any donations via Parent Pay which will organise for the money to be sent straight to the NSPCC.

    It all adds up

We’re really looking forward to all the fun of Number Day, and we really appreciate your support. All the money we raise at Rose Lane Primary School will make an enormous difference to children today and help NSPCC prevent abuse be there for children and.

    Thank you.

    Best wishes,

    Mrs Anson
