ANTI-BULLYING WEEK 11th – 15th NOVEMBER 2024
Next week is National Anti-Bullying Week and as usual, the school will be joining in with a packed programme of activities. The theme for this year is “CHOOSE RESPECT” and this will form the basis of our work. The children will be involved in a range of activities in class throughout the week to understand what bullying is and what they can do about it.
Too often, we are silent when we see bullying take place, silent about the hurt bullying causes, and silent when we hear bullying dismissed as “just banter or roasting.” Together, we can make a difference and take a stand against bullying. From the playground to our community and beyond.
On Wednesday 13th November our school will be celebrating ODD SOCKS DAY. Odd Socks Day is designed to be fun! It’s an opportunity to encourage people to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique!
There is no pressure to wear the latest fashion or to buy expensive costumes. All you have to do to take part is wear odd socks to your school, it couldn’t be simpler! So please remember to encourage your children to wear odd socks on this day, the brighter the better.
Yours Sincerely
Mr Jukes
Assistant Deputy Headteacher
Pastoral Lead

Dear Parents and Cares of Year 1 to Year 6,
I am so excited to share some incredible news with you. Rose Lane Primary is going to the ROYAL OPERA HOUSE on TUESDAY 8TH OCTOBER!!!
Through a ballot, we have been fortunate enough to be allocated 180 tickets for this season’s performance of ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND.
ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND is an absolute spectacle, with a tap-dancing mad hatter, a huge puppet of the Cheshire cat and a queen of hearts on wheels!
Visiting the Royal Opera House is a unique experience. The theatre is in the heart of Covent Garden and has been housing performances for almost 300 years. It seats 2,256 people!!! Just standing inside the beautiful interior is quite jaw dropping! The orchestra pit is enormous and has space for 109 musicians.
This is a truly wonderful and unique experience for your child and we are proud to be able to offer this visit as part of ongoing drive to deliver a high quality and aspirational creative arts curriculum.
Yours sincerely
Mrs L Marsh
Assistant Deputy Head Teacher
We are excited to announce that on Friday 27th September at 3:30pm, we will be hosting a cake sale in Flourish Hall to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The theme for this year's event is Cakes from Around the World, and we warmly invite all parents and carers to join us for this delicious and worthwhile cause.
We would especially love for you to join in and share a cake from your home country, so we can celebrate the wonderful diversity of our community!
If you would like to contribute, we kindly ask for donations of cakes to be brought to the school office on the morning of the event. Please remember that we are a nut-free school, so we ask that no cakes contain nuts.
Thank you in advance for your support. We look forward to tasting your delicious creations and seeing you on the day!
Miss S Edwards
After today's heavy rain the field it is saturated, so for safety reasons Sports Day will not take place tomorrow.
More rain is expected but we'll proceed on Wednesday if we possibly can. We'll review the situation tomorrow and update.
With kindness,
