Welcome to the Nursery at Rose Lane Primary School Nursery

We are delighted you are considering a place with us. Our Nursery provides a safe, caring and inspiring environment where children can learn, play, and grow at their own pace.

🧡 About Our Nursery

Our Nursery is a happy and nurturing space where children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, and develop confidence through play-based learning.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, as set out by the Department for Education, ensuring every child is supported in their learning and development across all seven areas.

Our experienced staff team know each child well and work closely with families to ensure every child feels secure, valued and ready for their next steps in education.

🎨 What Your Child Will Experience

At Rose Lane Nursery, children enjoy a rich variety of activities every day, including:

• Creative and messy play
• Storytelling, songs and early language development
• Outdoor learning and physical play
• Sensory exploration
• Early maths and literacy through play
• Social interaction and friendship building

We aim to build confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning.

Our Nursery staff are experienced, caring and passionate about early years education. They provide a warm and supportive environment where every child is known as an individual and encouraged to thrive.

🌈 Sessions, Funding and Charges

Funded Nursery Places

Children can start Nursery in the first full term after their third birthday, in line with government funding guidance.

Families may be eligible for:

• 15 hours funded childcare, or
• 30 hours funded childcare (for eligible working families)

Eligibility is set by the government and can be checked via your local authority or the official childcare service.

Additional Sessions (Optional)

Some families may wish to extend their child’s Nursery hours beyond their funded entitlement.

• Additional sessions are optional and subject to availability
• These are charged at £17.00 per day from September 2026
• You do not need to purchase additional hours for your child to access their funded Nursery place

🍽 Meals

We are pleased to offer a free hot meal each day for all children attending our Nursery.

• Children receiving the 30-hour funded entitlement will receive a free hot meal at no extra cost
• Children attending additional paid sessions to make up a full 30-hour week will also receive a free hot meal on the days they attend

Our meals are freshly prepared and designed to support healthy eating habits and positive social mealtimes.

📄 Admissions

All children who are eligible for a funded Nursery place can access their entitlement regardless of whether they choose to purchase additional sessions.

Places are not conditional on any extra payments or services.

To apply or register interest, please visit the school office and complete a Nursery Interest Form.
