YEAR 1 AND 2 ONLY DRESS UP DAY TITANIC THEME

On Tuesday 24th January the children in Year1 and Year 2 will be participating in a ‘Welcome Aboard the Titanic’ experience. They will be taking part in an afternoon of role play activities which will help to deepen their understanding of their topic for this half term. The children will be pretending to be either crew, 1st, 2nd or 3rd class passengers and learning about the different experiences of each group and the relationship between the numbers who survived and which class they were in.

 

Your child will be playing the part of: a ship crew member,  a1st class passenger, a 2nd class passenger, a 3rd class passenger.

 

It would be great if your child could come dressed for their part but we do not want you to go to any special lengths. Please see the back of this sheet for some ideas and ask your child’s teacher for any help if needed.

 

Here are some ideas;

1st/ 2nd Class passengers

GIRL- party dress

BOY- smart trousers and shirt/ suit

 

3rd Class passengers

GIRL- long skirt and plain top, use a scarf as a shawl or wear an apron

BOY- trousers and plain top, with a waistcoat if you have one

 

Crew

Dark blue or black trousers/ skirt

Dark blue shirt/ top

Cap (if you have one)
