QUEEN ELIZABETH II: 21 APRIL 1926 - 8 SEPTEMBER 2022

The staff and pupils of Rose Lane Primary School wish to express their deep sadness at the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. She has been a constant presence in all of our lives and has played a significant part in many school events and in our curriculum. In recent years we have celebrated her Diamond and Platinum Jubilees and as such our school community has recognised both the historical and cultural importance of our Queen.

At Rose Lane we pride ourselves on the personal development of all of our stake holders and our core values are threaded through every action and decision. Queen Elizabeth II demonstrated, throughout her reign, the qualities that we uphold ourselves and promote in our community.

The Queen has been the ultimate role model of responsibility, respect and resilience and this was always reflected in her sense of duty to her country and her citizens. At the same time, her sense of playfulness was often seen in candid photos of her giggling with a member of her family.

If all of us can demonstrate this same combination of duty and joy, we will best serve ourselves, our families, our community and our country.
